Meet Rachel Chernyavskiy

I'm the Owner and Director of RBM Marriage & Family Therapy, PLLC.
I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University after completing a graduate degree in Psychology in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
My team and I are deeply committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment where you can openly share your experiences and work through the challenges you may be facing.
When Life Feels Harder Than It Looks
Sometimes the hardest part is not knowing how to explain what is wrong.
You may still be functioning, showing up for work, taking care of responsibilities, and doing what needs to get done — while internally feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that are hard to change on your own.
Therapy offers space to slow down, understand what is happening more clearly, and begin moving forward with more support and direction. Whether you are struggling individually or your relationship feels strained, therapy can help make the pattern clearer and the next step more manageable.
Therapy for Individuals and Couples
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers one-on-one support for anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, grief, anger, life transitions, illness, and other personal challenges that affect how you feel and function in daily life.
It is a place to better understand your thoughts, emotions, stress patterns, and responses — and to begin making changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy helps partners work through communication problems, trust issues, recurring conflict, infidelity, intimacy concerns, parenting stress, financial tension, and major life changes affecting the relationship.
It is a place to slow the cycle down, understand what is happening between you, and begin building healthier ways to communicate, repair, and reconnect.

A Practical, Supportive Approach
Therapy should feel both supportive and useful.
That means having space to talk honestly about what is happening, while also working toward greater clarity, emotional understanding, and real change. The goal is not to judge your reactions or tell you to simply “push through.” The goal is to help you understand the deeper pattern, respond differently, and build something more sustainable.
Whether you are coming for personal support or relationship support, therapy can help you feel less stuck and less alone in what you are carrying.
Online Therapy That Fits Real Life
Online therapy makes it easier to get support without adding more travel, coordination, or stress to your week.
Sessions can take place from home or another private space, which can make therapy more accessible and more consistent — especially when you are balancing work, parenting, caregiving, health concerns, commuting, or a demanding schedule.
For many people, online therapy offers a practical way to begin getting help while still working within the realities of everyday life.

Not Sure Where to Start?
You do not need to have the perfect words before reaching out.
Some people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want help with. Others simply know they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, reactive, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns they want to understand better.
Starting therapy does not require having everything figured out. It just requires a place to begin.
How to Get Started
-
Reach out to schedule a consultation.
-
Share a little about what has been feeling difficult or what you want support with.
-
Begin therapy with a clearer sense of where to focus and what kind of support will help most.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Daniel P.
"Rachel's approach to therapy is unique in that she wants you to graduate from therapy. We started seeing her weekly, then biweekly, then monthly. Now we know we can text her anytime we need and schedule a session as need. She's wonderful."
Kristina M.
"We started working with Rachel while engaged in 2022. She was such a big part of our wedding being a moment to celebrate our relationship. We felt weird that we couldn't invite her to our wedding because we felt she was the only person who knew how much we had accomplished to get to where we are now."
Renee W.
"I'm so beyond thankful for this practice. I see one Therapist for individual therapy and my partner and I see a different therapist at the practice. Having all our care under one roof is so helpful."
